It's time for our totally fun, hometown, downtown Highland parade put on by the Huron Valley Youth Association (formerly Hi-White): This Saturday 10am. Come watch our local folk's floats, old cars, marchers, bands, firetrucks and more march down Livingston Road-it's a riot! Last year we even had horses and dogs. It starts at the church just in from Livingston Road and M59 then heads east to John Street then we end up at the senior center for sloppy joes, hotdogs, a rummage sale to benefit Huron Valley Council of the Arts and Highland Beautification's huge plant sale. The Highland Conservancy will have a booth with various sizes of trees available (for a small donation) this year. Come join us! I also read in the Milford Times that Heavner's Canoe is having a "Fun Day" with lots of freebie stuff, hot air balloon rides (not sure if those are free) starting at noon and going all afternoon ending with a bonfire over at Proud lake. A great day to get outside with the family. Hope to see you Saturday! [If you want to join us marching, meet us at 9am at senior center/call me for details].

P.S. Mark your calendar for the Garlic mustard removal day at Highland Oaks (free admission to park) on Sat. May 30th.
