What kind of residential development does Highland Township need? Do we want to maintain the rural character of Highland? On Thursday, January 31, 2008, Cleve King will present a rezoning proposal to the Highland Township Planning Commission for approximately125 acres of land on Hickory Ridge Road north of M59, just east of the Dunham subdivision. The meeting begins at 7:30 at the Highland Senior Center on John Street (west of Milford Road and south of M59). The Highland Township Master Plan, supplemented by a recently completed Micro-Analysis of the area, calls for single family residential lots of one and one half acres, or a total of approximately 75 homes on the site. Mr. King is asking the township to rezone the property to RM-1, which will allow approximately 900 residential units at a density of 8 per acre.
If you have any concerns, or wish to comment on this proposal, please attend the meeting on Thursday evening.
